Being on our Graduate Scheme at Ofcom will enable you build on the communication experience and knowledge you already have, contributing to one of the UK's largest industries.
The Generalist pathway is wide and varied which reflects the work of Ofcom as an organisation. A part of this is our duty to take into account in our decisions the views and interests of those who live in different parts of the UK. The Ofcom Scotland Team represents Ofcom in Scotland and Scotland in Ofcom. You could be a part of this wide ranging team.
As a Generalist based in Edinburgh you will have the opportunity to help ensure that we keep in touch with the views and opinions of citizens and consumers, the regulated industries and of stakeholders more generally in Scotland, and factor these in to our policy and decision making. You will work across many aspects of Ofcom’s remit and help provide input and advice on issues as they apply to Scotland and to policy and project teams across Ofcom.
You will also have the opportunity to spend a six month placement in our London office working in our wider business areas.
Being on the scheme will provide a great variety of work areas and responsibilities. As such there is no ‘right’ degree to have studied. Strong academics coupled with a willingness to learn and enthusiasm are a must. Work experience in a relevant area would put you in a strong position.
